Honduras Trip

Lake Yojoa, Honduras – January 2011 On January 4th, I embarked on a brief one week journey with the Hurst family to Honduras, Central America. Flying out of JFK, we had a short layover in San Salvador, El Salvador on the way to touching down in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. As this was my second [...]

Fairview Christian School – Christmas Program

Last night, I rode along with some friends up to Reading to attend Fairview Christian School’s Christmas Program.  Here’s a few snapshots (I apologize for the quality, they were taken with my phone) and some of the music selections from the evening. Picasna Photo Gallery WordPress Plugin

I love the ease of use that Picasa has to offer for uploading images to the web. However, until today I hadn’t found a good solution for posting these images in a nice graphical way on blogs.  Picasna answers that need. To test this out, here’s an album from a day trip I took to [...]

Fall Color

Most parts of Washington State look like the following photo during the month of October. Scattered here and there however, you will find more traditional fall color like the photos below that I took while out walking today. . . .

Heather Lake

Monday, I went with a group of about 40 from our church and hiked up to Heather Lake.  As usual I brought my camera along and took the HDR photo below.  This one was taken with 3 exposures 1.5 stops apart.  I find the results of HDR beautiful, but they are so much work!

Elderly Spinnera

I love photography, though I don’t dedicate much time to it anymore.  There are a handful of photography RSS feeds that I subscribe to.  Wikipedia’s Picture of the Day happens to be one of them.  Today’s POTD is an amazing classic.  My favorite aspect of this photo is the fact that in spite of its [...]

Quote of the Day

I read this today: “We are all just plagiarists of a real artist, and her name is Mother Nature”. It needs modification, I think: “We are all just plagiarists of a real artist, and His Name is God”.

HDR – First Attempts

Inspired by others who have taken some amazing HDR or High Dynamic Range Imaging photographs, I’ve decided to jump in and try my hand at this. Below are some photos I shot this morning. Comments and critical analysis are welcome. Telephone Pole St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church – Arlington, WA St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church – Arlington, [...]

An encouraging bumper sticker I saw today.
